In Somalia, many orphaned children are cared for by struggling relatives who can barely provide daily meals, making education out of reach. As a result, children often leave school to work and support their families.
Through African Relief Fund’s Orphan Sponsorship Programme, donors help cover the cost of a child’s care, allowing families to provide food, education, and a stable, nurturing environment every child deserves.

ARF supports orphans aged six and above, with regular monitoring by our field teams and local partners to ensure their wellbeing and transparent care. Each sponsored orphan and their family receive:
Nutritious food to support the entire household.
Covering basic needs and school fees.
Special gifts twice a year to bring joy and dignity.
An annual health check-up for each sponsored child.

African Relief Fund works closely with local partners to identify orphaned children and families most in need of support. Currently, our Orphan Sponsorship Programme supports 50 orphans in Mogadishu, Afgooye, and Burao — but many more remain on waiting lists across Somalia.
