Give Water to Save Lives

Millions across the Horn of Africa struggle to access safe drinking water as climate change continues to disrupt rainfall patterns. Prolonged droughts in countries like Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia have led to displacement, malnutrition, and the spread of waterborne diseases—placing entire communities at risk.

For over 20 years, ARF has worked with drought-affected communities in Somalia and Eastern Ethiopia to provide reliable access to clean water. With drought now impacting up to 90% of these regions, the need for sustainable water solutions has never been more urgent. Why Water Matters:

  • Life-Saving Access: Clean water reduces disease, malnutrition, and preventable deaths.
  • Time & Dignity Restored: Less time walking for water means more time for education and family care.
  • Community Stability: Reliable water sources reduce displacement and hardship.

ARF Sustainable Water Solutions

We work hand-in-hand with local communities to deliver reliable, long-term water systems that protect health, restore livelihoods, and build resilience against drought.

Wells & Boreholes

We drill wells and boreholes to provide safe groundwater for people and livestock.

Health & Wellbeing

Clean water reduces reliance on contaminated surface sources, preventing diarrhoeal diseases.

Community-Led Planning

Every project begins with local field research to ensure long-term, suitable solutions.

Resilience Against Drought

Our water systems help communities withstand recurring droughts and famine.

"When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah [ceaseless charity]; a knowledge which [he has passed on and] is beneficial; or a virtuous descendant who prays for him." (Muslim, 1383)

The Bigger Picture

Water as a Lifeline:

  • Over 400 million people across Africa lack access to safe drinking water.
  • In Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya, prolonged droughts force families to rely on contaminated surface water.
  • Unsafe water leads to disease, malnutrition, and loss of livelihoods.

Thank You from Falayryaale Village, Somalia

Before ARF’s intervention, women like Aasha Mohamud Hassan walked for hours each day to collect unsafe water from dried-up pools. Carrying heavy jerry cans, she sacrificed time, energy, and safety just to keep her family alive.

Today, thanks to your support, Falayryaale Village has a reliable water well system. Families no longer endure exhausting journeys for water—and mothers like Aasha can care for their children with dignity, health, and hope restored.

Join us today. Build a well. Give the basic need of clean water to the people of Somalia.
